The benefits of exercise during pregnancy have been well documented, and include maintaining/improving physical fitness and strength to prepare for the demands of both pregnancy and motherhood (and for life!); also better weight control, potentially reduced risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), improved sleep during pregnancy, reduced back pain, and potentially shorter labour (with improved coping skills)!!
As pregnancy is a unique time of physical and psychological/emotional change, women's health physios are well placed to conduct exercise classes for pregnant women. In particular, this has been a long-held dream of Hillview Physiotherapy - to be able to provide the local community with this specialised service.
As such both Alison and Amee (postgrad-qualified women's health physiotherapists) are REALLY excited to be starting these two new classes next week:
To be held on Wednesday evenings 6:00pm - 7:00pm
To be held on Thursdays 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Both classes will be run at the Ascension Hall, 17 Spring Park Rd, Midland - almost next door to the Hillview Physiotherapy Clinic (you can park either at the clinic or on Spring Park Rd).
Class numbers are limited so please give us a call if you're interested. Both classes consist of 45mins exercise + 10-15mins relaxation - SO important for pregnancy and labour - but also you will learn some practical relaxation strategies that may see you through many stressful times ahead! We look forward to a positive, fun and meaningful exercise experience! Women at any stage of pregnancy are welcome.
