New year, new physio, new classes
Posted: 23 January 2015

Rachel has been travelling the world for a year with her husband, and has returned to us with fresh enthusiasm for the field of continence and women's health physiotherapy. Our growing team at Hillview now includes three continence and women's health physiotherapists (Alison, Amee & Rachel) and one paediatric physiotherapist (Bev), and as a team we are excited to be able to provide our local community with a range of specialised services.

The end of 2014 saw Hillview Physiotherapy starting two land-based pregnancy exercise classes - both fitball and pilates - aiming to provide pregnant women with safe, supervised exercise options for this unique time in their lives. The new year sees us continuing these classes (and welcoming four new babies to the world!!), as well as our two mums & bubs pool classes (Tuesdays at Ellenbrook and Thursdays at Maida Vale).

We are also excited to be starting a new, land-based mums & bubs exercise class on Fridays in Midland. This new class commences Friday 30th January and will run weekly from 9:30am-10:30am, for mums of bubs aged from 6 weeks onwards. The class, under Rachel's guidance, will include a warm-up (be prepared to utilise your baby!), circuit-style strengthening exercises (including the all-important pelvic floor... with some pilates thrown in) and stretching/relaxation. Call Hillview Physiotherapy on 9274 5666 or find us on Facebook for more information.

The latter part of 2014 also saw Hillview Physiotherapy welcoming women's health physiotherapist Amee Rice. Amee has "hit the ground running" and with her particular interest in the field of persistent pelvic pain, is now looking to some very practical management options, including a new stretching and relaxation class for men and women with persistent pain. This class commences on Monday February 2 and will run weekly from 6-6:45pm. Call Amee on 9274 5666 to register your interest and discuss whether this class may be appropriate for you.

Finally, Alison is looking forward to attending pregnancy exercise classes herself as she prepares to head off on maternity leave. Stay tuned for more info on the latest little Lutz to enter the world, in the first half of 2015!
